Meet the Innkeepers

Sue and Ivan Hertzler launched Dragon Run Inn in 1998. Their labors of love to restore and update this wonderful, enormous 1913 farmhouse have been going on ever since.

Sue and Ivan are masters of relaxed hospitality, and you can tell they sincerely enjoy having guests. You'll feel at home as soon as you meet them. Good things are always cooking in Sue's commercial-quality country kitchen, and if you want a recipe for something you've enjoyed, no problem. Not only will you be greeted with refreshments and goodies, but you'll have a goody bag for your travels when you go, too.

Sue enjoys all types of needlework, crafts, cooking and cake decorating. She has done a lot of catering over the years and provided some extraordinarily beautiful and delicious cakes for very special events.

Ivan likes to garden and work with the Koi pond. He always seems to have another outdoor improvement project underway.

Both Sue and Ivan are actively involved in the No Strings Attached Puppet Team, sharing the love of Christ through puppetry.

Just 6 country highway miles outside town, and easily accessible, Dragon Run Inn is in a large, three-story farmhouse. A large front porch is comfortably furnished for reading, enjoying the outdoors, or socializing. Inside there are more sitting rooms on the ground floor, along with the dining room where breakfast may be enjoyed at a private or a communal table. Guest rooms are on the second floor and they are all suites. Keeping the farmhouse theme, the rooms are Horse, Pig, Cow and Sheep, cute, roomy, and with sparkling en-suite bathrooms. Sue even decorates for each holiday, and prepares personalized welcomes for each guest.

Besides ready proximity to downtown Urbanna, Dragon Run Inn is close to access points for kayaking the Dragon Run. Sue and Ivan can tell you how to access the Dragon and what kinds of exploration are possible, as well as point you towards all the good things Urbanna has to offer.
